Takia Myers
Takia is a Black American Femme who values ancestral wisdoms, nature, collective community, spirituality, family, and friends. Takia has been dedicated to racial justice and equity since childhood, and she remembers her first encounter with anti-Black gendered racism occuring while in elementary school. She understands that embodying antiracism and actively confronting white supremacy culture are imperative to being a quality social worker.
Takia is a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin to many folks and she absolutely loves the arts, to include theater, music, dancing, writing, gardening, cooking, singing, and playing trivia style games. She is excited about doing the work and being a member of the Social Work Racial Justice Alliance!
