My years of work in the criminal-legal system compelled me to engage in racial justice work. I believe that social workers are answerable for our role in institutional and structural racial injustices and that we are obligated to advance systems of social equity. Understanding my whiteness and engaging in active allyship is central in my approach to racial justice work.

I hope to be part of moving the field of social work toward accountability and change. Nature, music, chosen family, and the wonderful young people in my life bring me peace and laughter.
